Kenya's local airline Safarilink has launched direct flights linking Nairobi City's Wilson Airport to Tanzania's Zanzibar Island. The service that began on 01st July will operate 4-times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays; there are plans afoot for daily flights by end of the year. The flights will depart from Nairobi's Wilson Airport at 14H00 - to allow passengers to connect from Masai Mara and Laikipia - and arrive at Zanzibar Airport at 15H45. The early evening return flight from Zanzibar will depart the Island at 16H15 to arrive at Wilson Airport at 18H00 - to enable connections to international flights flying out of Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta Airport (there is only a 30 minutes transfer time between the two Nairobi airports in normal traffic).
Safarilink will use its recently-acquired 52-seater Dash 8-315 aircraft on the new route.
