Meal Plan – Bed & Breakfast
Enjoy an early breakfast before being collected from hotel and make your way to Tsavo West National park towards Lions Bluff at Lumo sanctuary. On arrival at Lions Bluff, you will be welcomed with a fresh glass of juice and a fragrant ice-cold face cloth as you are shown around the lodge. Enjoy the views and take some time to relax and freshen up before sitting down to a light lunch. Sit back on the spacious viewing deck and watch the wildlife below, enjoy a good book or a short siesta as the afternoon drifts on by.
As the sun begins to descend and the savannah begins to cool down head off on a late afternoon game drive and watch the sun set behind the hills with your favourite drink in hand. Wash away the dust before sitting down to a delicious three course meal. While away the evening with a game of cards before getting into bed and fall into a peaceful sleep soothed by the sounds of the wilderness around you.
Overnight at Lions Bluff Lodge BLD
Lions Bluff is a striking lodge located on the top of a bluff that overlooks mind-blowing views of the plains of the LUMO sanctuary and Kilimanjaro beyond them.
Tsavo West - is covered in fairly thick bush but has spectacular natural scenery which includes volcanic cones, rocky outcrops and lava flows, mountains, river forest, plains, lakes and wooded grassland. Although the game is not as easy to spot as in Tsavo East it’s all here. Natural attractions include the Mzima Springs (the main source of water for the Tsavo River), the Chaimu Crater and Roaring Rocks, with their panoramic view.
Wake up to the most stunning views of the entire Lumo sanctuary below. Set off on an early morning game drive in our custom built open sided Land Cruiser before sitting down to a full breakfast set up in the heart of the bush. After breakfast you will head back to the lodge where you will be able to decide how you want to spend the rest of your day. Take part in some adventurous and cultural activities such as guided bush walks where you will learn all about the medicinal use of various plants, spot the many different species of birds with our in-house bird expert, learn about the local culture and visit a traditional village or you can relax at the lodge and keep busy with our wide range of safari books. You can also take advantage of all the other great things Tsavo has to offer including underwater fish and hippo watching at Mzima Springs or a tour of one of the historic sites of WWI.
Malindi is the main town on this part of the coastline and is where the shops and travel agencies are found. It is home to and visited by so many Italians that there an Italian consul in the town.
On your last day at Lions Bluff enjoy a hearty breakfast before enjoying your final game drive enroute as you start your journey towards the stunning Indian Ocean.
Upon arrival, you will be dropped at Driftwood where you will be welcomed with an ice-cold drink, a refreshing fragrant face cloth and the stunning view of the Indian Ocean. Slip into something cooler and let yourself relax on the beach or by the pool while enjoying something delicious from the snack menu. Finish off the day with a stroll down the beach before sitting down to a mouth-watering meal in the dining room. Drift to sleep in your air conditioned room in the silence but for the sound of the ocean beyond.

Overlooking the blue waters of the Indian Ocean, the Driftwood Beach Club is located on a beautiful tropical palm fringed beach just south of Malindi on the Kenyan coast. Let the day slip away in any way you please with plenty of activities to choose from; if you wish to spend a relaxed day as a family at the hotel you can enjoy a game of squash or play a board game, discover the abundant birdlife or pamper yourself with a massage to relax your muscles after the bumpy game drives. Alternatively, you can venture out of The Driftwood and take a tuktuk tour of Malindi, visit the Arabuko Sokoke Forest, enjoy a range of different water activities such as snorkelling, kite-surfing, scuba diving or take a calm trip in a glass bottom boat and take a closer look to the unspoilt sea life.

This is your last day on holiday! Enjoy a hearty breakfast and a last full day of the beach and pool setting off on your flight back to Nairobi at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport connects to your flight back home with a smile and a lifetime of memories or to unwind yourself at the Kenyan beaches.
